Convert all your AutoCAD Hatch To Model Fill Patterns for Revit using Dynamo

CONVERT MANUALLY

As we all know in order to use AutoCAD hatch in Revit, we can convert them manually by adding following;

;%TYPE=DRAFTING
;%TYPE=MODEL
;%UNITS=MM
;%UNITS=INCH

This is one of the example.

1. At First Download FREE AutoCAD Hatch Patterns from http://www.cadhatch.com/

2. Then open your ".pat" file using NOTEPAD and then add ";%UNITS=MM " and
";%TYPE=MODEL" to your ".pat" file as shown in the picture.
3. Then launch your Revit do the following steps;

That's all !

USING DYNAMO

The above method is good for when you have one or two .pat file. For instance if I have more than ±50 .pat file and I want to convert them all. I let you estimate the time, That how much time you’ve spent to finished the particular task. The following screenshot shown that I have 49 .pat file. Which I can convert all of them in less than 1 second using Dynamo.

Using Dynamo to Convert all AutoCAD Hatch To Model Fill Patterns for Revit is pretty simple. Below is how it can be done;

1. Download FREE AutoCAD Hatch Patterns from this http://www.cadhatch.com/

2. Launch Dynamo and click on new file (i am using Dynamo version of 0.9.0.3067) [Note: You don’t have to open Revit in order to open Dynamo. Just create a shortcut file using “C:\Program Files\Dynamo 0.9\DynamoSandbox.exe”]

3. Add the following nodes then run
